In our second collaboration with the Georgia Museum of Art, we were entrusted with designing a book that chronicles the evolution of craft studies at the University of Georgia—from its roots as a small home economics department to its growth into the Lamar Dodd School of Art within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
The project’s timeline gave us the opportunity to carefully review the manuscript, allowing us to make informed design and typography decisions. The museum also curated a resonant collection of photography to accompany the text, capturing the craft, artwork, people, and spaces that have shaped the program’s history.
The release of the book was perfectly timed with an exhibition showcasing the work of the artists and faculty featured in its pages, further celebrating the program’s rich legacy.
